A quick fright but thankfully nothing came of it
One of the fundamental pillars of Connor is I an't sleep. Some times this catches up with me. Such was the case on Friday when I decided to skip my 9am class after a terrible night's sleep. Its a seminar so even if I had dragged myself their I was in no shape to meaningfully contribute anyways. I did go to my 10am, I wasn't just playing hooky all day. So I sleep in and the rest of my day, while tired, went fine. I do the work for the 9am that was due for Monday as I did fully plan to go. HOWEVER, I then see an email from the professor reminding the class that Monday (today) will be a direct continuation of Friday. As such I concluded that perhaps I best not go on account of having missed Friday but at this point two absences is getting to be a bit much so I figured that I ought to email the professor and I told him that I was sick and wasn't feeling better as of Sunday night. I even asked for the poetry that we were analyzing in class which I had missed, he must have distributed physical copies because they were nowhere to be found on brightspace. Anyhoo, he writes back giving me the poetry and says he hopes I feel better. Nothing notable.
So now I go to my 10am and then on Mondays I have my second seminar. This second seminar is in the history department suite. I tend to get everywhere a bit early so I got to this 4 o'clock seminar at around 315 or 330ish, pretty early even for me. Now I go the the suite but the conference room itself is locked. As I stand there trying to open the locked door like an idiot I look up and see directly across the hall was a door labeled Dr. Casteel who was a professor I have had for two classes. I decide I best go find somewhere to sit before she potentially see me standing out here like an idiot. I go and awkwardly pass some girl in my class who sits next to me without acknowledging her and find a place to sit in front of the stairs. It is pretty quiet on the history department floor but I was people watching the few who did walk by. Then I see someone go down the stairs and I look only to realize it's Dr. Pack who I had last semester. He didn't see me cause of where I was sitting but now I was quite alarmed because it only just then occurred to me "what if my professor from the class I lied about being sick for walks by and sees me here FOR A CLASS". So now I'm sitting there looking over my shoulder for what must have been twenty minutes.
I go to class and get out of there without seeing the professor or anyone else I know for that matter so this is just a set up to a non story. Sorry to disappoint but nothing actually happened. As far as a story without a notable ending goes think this was an alright one. I'm real sorry for wasting your time making you read all this for no pay off in the story.
